Thank you to Glacier Guides, and more specifically my guide Jeremy for making my 6 day backpacking trip through Glacier such an amazing experience. Jeremy was knowledgeable, patient, prepared, an excellent cook, and a pretty cool dude. Would definitely recommend Glacier Guides to anyone visiting Glacier NP.

  • Chalet Testimonial

Our family of 5 just returned from the 3 day chalet trip with Ryan and Eva and WOW! We’re still coming down from the amazing time we had! First of all, both these guides are just really cool people, super knowledgeable about the history and ecology of the park, and clearly enthusiastic about what they do. The Highline Trail was stunning, Ryan and Eva made sure everyone was comfortable with the pace and pointed out animals, berries, and interesting features when we came across them. After the hike in it was awesome to have a delicious, hot meal prepared FOR us (we felt very fortunate for our dinner after watching the rest of the guest eat freeze dried stuff). I’m so grateful for the gentle push to do the two day hikes we did while up that way; they were so worth the climb and our time at the top of the Swiftcurrent Fire Lookout is one of the absolute highlights of this trip. I want to make a special mention of how great both of these guides where with our children, my boys especially bonded with Ryan and they probably talked both his and Eva’s ears all the way off over the duration of the trip but they were so cool about it. Overall this trip was one we will never forget and always cherish and the fantastic guides and process with your company really made it that much more enjoyable. We hope to come back someday for more adventures!

  • Group Trip Testimonial

Did a half day trip with 7 family members and had a fantastic time with our knowledgeable and talented guide Charlie! We had a variety of experience within our group, and Charlie guided us down the river without a hitch, sharing interesting facts along the way. Great experience for any age. Montana Raft is a top notch company, accommodating our group without any issue when booking the day before. Our group of 7 fit on one raft, and Montana Raft provided a variety of gear options for us to use, including wet suits, rain jackets, booties, helmets, and life jackets (highly recommend the wetsuit when going on a cool day, as you can expect to get thoroughly soaked on your journey down the river). We can be a tough group to please, but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and we highly recommend having Charlie as your guide!

Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your house! We had such a great time exploring West Glacier. Highly recommended for larger groups as there were lots of beds and plenty of rooms to spread out. Would come again!

Logan Pass weekly update: We’re looking forward to Logan Pass weekly update: We’re looking forward to one of our favorite times of year, biking the Going-to-the-Sun Road all the way to the Pass! If you’re planning a ride, remember that conditions in the mountains can change quickly. Be prepared for:

Rapid weather changes
Rocks, gravel, and debris on the roadway
Cold temperatures and strong winds, even on sunny days

Always carry:
Plenty of food and water
Basic bike repair tools and a spare tube
Extra layers and rain gear
A plan for changing conditions

The views are incredible, but mountain travel requires preparation and flexibility. Ride smart, stay aware, and enjoy this unique opportunity to experience Glacier without vehicle traffic.

Fun fact: The average Going-to-the-Sun Road opening date over the past 10 years is June 26. Seven of those ten years opened between June 13 and June 28. We’re getting close! What’s your guess for opening day?
If you’ve visited our office, you know to look for If you’ve visited our office, you know to look for good ole Baby Blue, our original blue bus.

First purchased in 1987, Baby Blue was Glacier Guides Montana Raft’s first ever bus. It carried passengers with the same goals as our visitors today: enjoying the beautiful scenery of Glacier National park and walking away with experiences, memories, and stories to look back on that stay with you! Now, it sits overlooking West Glacier just down the road, marking our office HQ & the spot where all the magic behind the scenes happens to give you the same awesome experience.

Look out for our blue buses this summer and think of Baby Blue!

June 10 Update from Logan Pass! Looks like Logan June 10 Update from Logan Pass!
Looks like Logan Pass picked up about an inch of fresh snow overnight, and it may still be snowing this morning. Winter isn't quite ready to let go of Glacier National Park above 6, 000 feet yet!
Meanwhile, road crews are working hard to clear snow, repair infrastructure, and prepare the Going-to-the-Sun Road for vehicle traffic.

The good news: It's still Hiker-Biker Season from the Avalanche parking area, giving visitors up to 16 miles of car-free riding and walking on one of the most scenic roads in North America.

When will the Going-to-the-Sun Road open to vehicles?
No official date yet, but if history is any guide, we'd guess we're probably within the next 10 days. Of course, Mother Nature gets the final vote, and fresh snow like today's can always slow things down.
