  • Biking Testimonial

Used Glacier Guides/Montana Raft Company for a bike trip up the Going to the Sun road in West Glacier and a white water rafting trip on the Flathead River. Jordan was our guide for the former, Blaine for the latter, and both were really awesome. Would definitely use them again for future hikes, biking, and rafting.

Perfect base from which to explore Glacier National Park. We only had 4 in our group, but the house had plenty of room for more. We picked up groceries on the way from the airport so we could cook breakfast and dinners at the house and spend all day at the Park. Sunflower Cafe across the highway has great options to pack in for trail lunches. We loved all the windows and felt like we were already in the park while in the house. Great to have the laundry there, too to clean up before heading over to the east side of the park for the rest of our stay. I would recommend this house to anyone. visiting Glacier.

Explore Glacier’s stunning interior landscapes by day, then settle in for the night within the original stone walls of a backcountry icon.

Enjoy delicious, home-cooked meals served miles from the nearest road or grocery store, and unwind in the warm glow of the chalet dining room. After dark, step outside to experience Glacier’s internationally recognized dark skies, where stars fill the night in every direction. Best of all, you’ll enjoy this backcountry experience without carrying camping gear. Your daypack will weigh approximately 20 pounds and will include your clothing, lunch, water (two bottles or a hydration system), rain gear, and optional personal items such as a camera, binoculars, sunscreen, and similar essentials. Here’s a list of what to bring.
Depending on trail conditions, you’ll hike to and from the Chalet via either the Loop Trail (3.8 miles with 2,000 feet of elevation gain) or the Highline Trail (7.5 mostly level miles). The Chalet features a fully equipped kitchen and beds with linens, offering rare comfort deep in Glacier’s backcountry.
