Day Trip Packing List
Fish on, rain or shine! Prepare below — you don’t need much except a Montana fishing license!
- Montana State Fishing License – purchase online!
- Bring your own fishing gear or use your guide’s – no fishing equipment is necessary.
- River sandals or shoes you don’t mind getting wet. (Wetsuit booties are provided at no additional cost if you don’t have the appropriate footwear.)
- Water bottle
- Sunglasses and straps – polarized recommended!
- Spare corrective eyewear, glasses, or contacts
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- Insect repellent
- Sun hat or ball cap
- Rain jacket, fully waterproof
- Layers, depending on weather
- Gratuity for guide (18-20% is the standard for our industry)

Overnight Packing List
Clothing
- Quick dry shorts (1 for the river/ 1 for camp)
- Synthetic wicking t-shirt (1 for the river/ 1 for camp)
- Swimsuit
- Long underwear top and bottom (midweight, synthetic)
- Midweight fleece or wool jacket or sweater
- Midweight fleece pants (for use while at camp)
- Fleece or insulated jacket (needed in June and September)
- Waterproof rain jacket and pant
- Fleece or wool hat
- Fleece or wool gloves
- Wool or synthetic socks
- River sandals or sneakers for rafting. (We provide wetsuit booties if necessary)
- Dry shoes for camp
Miscellaneous Essentials
- Ziploc bags (larger size, to organize, keep items clean and dry)
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, wash cloth, sanitary wipes)

Most of these items are available for sale in our West Glacier office if you forget something. Hiking, backpacking, camping, and river gear is available to rent – reservations are recommended.
