Only you can prevent wildfires! Although September Only you can prevent wildfires! Although September typically marks the waning of the forest fire season, it’s important to be as vigilant as ever and facilitate responsible fire usage. Current smoke and haze in the park (as seen in image 1 off the Highline Trail) can be attributed to several fires in surrounding states, along with local fires within the Flathead National Forest, including The Radio Fire, located one mile northwest of the radio tower on Big Mountain at is 1/10 of an acre The Pot Mountain Fire, located in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex and Spotted Bear Ranger District The Moose Fire, 1/4 of an acre Big Creek drainage near the road junction of #315 and #316 in the Glacier View Ranger District And a recent 3–5-acre wildfire north of Big Mountain (the Hallowat Fire). The public is advised that Trail #452 is within the area of active fire. Smoke may be visible from the summit of Big Mountain. Fire information credit to @u.s.forest service & @whitefishpilot
