What Sets Us Apart?
Guide Experience, Safety, Knowledge and Service. Rafting guides are trained in Swiftwater Rescue in addition to all guides certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR and NPS Bear Management Training.
Interpretation and Preservation Focus. We were chosen as Glacier’s exclusive hiking guide service in 1983. Our focus on interpretation and preservation is unequalled. We teach and practice Leave No Trace on all of our trips. Since 2013, we are “EcoStar Award” winners in recognition of our pollution prevention efforts. This award is given by Montana State University in conjunction with the Montana Governor’s office.
We won’t overstuff the boat! Glacier Guides and Montana Raft is the only raft company in West Glacier that puts no more than 9 guests in our boats. Other companies pack in up to 14 people. What that means for you is that everybody gets to paddle and participate in the trip! (We have other options available, too, if you’d rather not paddle.)
Equipment Quality. Our rafting department uses top quality Hyside boats, NRS equipment, and other support gear. Our hiking equipment includes Big Agnes, Black Diamond, Sierra Designs, Osprey, MSR, Katadyn and Therma-Rest. We are also Glacier National Park’s camping equipment concession partner.
No Hidden Charges. Glacier Guides and Montana Raft does not charge extra for wetsuits or booties, which are mandatory at certain times of the year.
Great Facilities. Glacier Guides and Montana Raft offers a shaded property with nice restrooms, changing rooms, a volleyball court, shaded parking, and picnic facilities. Free Wi-Fi, too!
Food for Thought. We think it’s important to fuel your body with tasty and nutritious food. That’s why we make most of our food with local and organic (whenever possible) products. We cater to all dietary considerations. Many of our guided trips include meals – you can also purchase delicious trail lunches, with advance notice. Just call us at 406-387-555.
Local Sources: A few of the Montana companies that we are working with are: * Lifeline Cheese, Victor * Great Northern Pasta, Whitefish * Half Moon Eggs, Columbia Falls * Mountain View Garden, Kalispell * Two Bear Farm, Whitefish * Perfect Cut Meats, Columbia Falls * Wheat Montana, Kalispell * Montana Huckleberry Haven, Kalispell
We Do Not Use Billboards! Because we believe in protecting the scenic entrance to Glacier National Park. In addition, we maintain a forested buffer on our acreage along the entrance to Glacier.
